Is it safe to use the power output on the ipod charger to charge other USB devices?

I have a power block for my ipod which has a UBS output on it to accommodate the iPod cable. My bluetooth headset charges using mini USB can I connect a mini USB cable to my ipod charger to charge my bluetooth headset?
