Why does the kickstart work but not the electric start nor my alarm?
I bought a vento 150 cc rebellian. It only has 600 miles on it. it is a 2005. I bought it from a lady that kept it in storage. I can kick start it but the electric start will not work nor my alarm system. Everything else works. What could this be?

- it does not work because it is junk.
- the battery is flat. kick start does not require the battery to get the motor running. now why is it flat? one of 3 things- it went flat and just needs a re-charge (easy). if it drains again- it is totally dead and you need a new one (easy, but more $$$), if this dies quickly too, then- the magneto is stuffed and needs recoiling. (not easy, bigger $$$).
- fuse... battery.. bad earth... broken switch.... broken wire... bad startermotor... probably could be a few other things to..
- The battery is flat. The kickstart doesn't go through the battery, it uses a magneto to produce the electricity when you kick it and that's what starts the bike. Once the engine is running the alternator produces electricity as usual to run the bike's systems so everything works as normal. Fit a new battery.
- How is your battery?? It prob starts with a mag then your charging system takes over when it starts
- you dont know how lucky youve been to get 600 miles out of it,it never ceases to amaze me that everybody wants to buy a cheap bike, then all you see for the next 6 months is them asking how to fix everything on it,ends up costing them more in the long run. buy name brand,at least then you will have a sorce for parts. to answer your question, the battery is at least 3 yrs old, and was probably not properly cared for,buy a new one
